About the schedule

  • Travel between Holyhead and Dublin by ferry includes multiple sailings every day. The services operate on a fixed timetable, with the exception of the Dublin Swift Ferry, whose departures can be more irregular due to the low season, weather conditions, or maintenance.
  • If future sailings from Stena Line or Irish Ferries are missing from the timetable, this is usually because the schedules for that period have not yet been released. This often occurs toward the end of the year when new timetables are being finalised.
  • This page provides an integrated timetable featuring the services of both Irish Ferries and Stena Line, offering a clear overview of all sailings. Separate timetables are also available for Stena Line and Irish Ferries sailings.
  • Missing a ferry in the timetable? You can check our live ferry tracker to see whether the ship is currently active on the route or docked in port.
  • Please note that all sailings shown in the timetable are subject to change depending on operating conditions.

Changes in the sailing schedules

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for a ferry to be delayed or cancelled, often due to weather conditions. The Irish Sea can be quite rough, as many storms arrive from the southwest. In general, the larger ferries will continue to operate in strong winds longer than the fast catamaran vessels. For the latest sailing updates, please consult the sailing updates page.

Departing? Build in some extra time

All international ferry services have check-in times that must be observed. There is a latest check-in deadline to ensure sufficient time for customs, boarding, and other formalities.

On the Holyhead–Dublin route, these check-in times are relatively short. Depending on which ferry company you are travelling with, the specific check-in times are listed on these pages:
