Holyhead Port Parking

At Holyhead port, there are parking spaces for both short- and long-term parking. Short-term parking is available at the terminal, while there are three other areas for long-term parking.

Leaving your car in one of Holyhead’s parking areas could save you around £200 on a ferry return ticket, as foot passengers usually travel much more cheaply

If your combined parking and public transport costs are lower than the fare for taking your car on board, it may be well worth leaving your vehicle in the Holyhead car park instead of bringing it across. Je kunt dan gebruik maken van de long stay parkeerplaatsen nabij de terminal. You can then use the long-stay parking areas located near the terminal.

Long stay parking at Holyhead terminal

There are two small long-stay parking areas available.

  • Car Park 1 has a height restriction of 2.4m.
  • Car Park 2 has a height restriction of 2.1m.

You can pre-pay for parking at Car Park 2 using the on-site payment machine, by phone, or online via Horizon Parking.  However, we would recommend arranging and booking everything in advance, as parking space is somewhat limited.

The name of the Horizon Parking location is “Holyhead Ferry Terminal,” although it may also appear in the booking system as “Stena Line Ports.”

Short-term parking at the terminal

The short-term car park at Holyhead Ferry Terminal is designed mainly for dropping off or picking up passengers. It’s located close to the terminal entrance, offering convenient access for quick stops. However, stricter rules now apply: parking is limited to a maximum of 20 minutes, and overstaying may result in a fine. Blue Badge holders may be allowed a longer stay but must register or pay through the on-site payment system. If you need to leave your vehicle for longer, it’s best to use the nearby long-stay car park managed by Horizon Parking (£5.00 for up to 12 hours).
